Music software?

I've been using iTunes for a long time now, there are things I like about it, and things I don't. I like that you can right click on a track, click "get info" and edit the metadata of the song while at the same time, organizing tracks into folders corresponding artist and albums. It is great when I'm using software like virtual dj, when I have to browse through folders to find tracks. What I dislike, is that It only works with Apple products, I have an iPod, but I am planing on getting an android soon. I also dislike how you have to sync tracks, you cant just add a few. Normally syncing works fine for me but sometimes I just want to add a few tracks to my ipod, which is really annoying to do with itunes. Itunes has also been having some errors and has for a long time. Last, itunes can't run on Linux, which I am starting to use more often. I know that some Linux software can put music on iPods, I just need some recommendations.

For windows I use Media Jukebox

I looked for an iTunes replacement for a long time. I didn't find anything as powerful or as fully featured as this. Take some time to go through the settings. You might be surprised what is available.

For Linux my favorite is Rhythmbox. Really simple and easy.

For working with iPods I have used gtkpod. You can also sync with Amarok and Banshee music players.

I have used Mixxx for a DJ program. It works with both Windows and Linux. It has quite a bit of support for added hardware if you are into that. Pretty easy to use with the keyboard if you are just looking for that as well. Just be sure to upgrade the PPA before you download it.
