Music tracks jumping and skipping

I have had a few problems recording some tracks on to a CD successfully. The actual music has been copied okay, problem is, when I play it back, it jumps in between the songs, not all of them, just a couple. It obviously has something to do with the way it's been copied because it sounds okay when I listen to it on the computer, it's only when I put it in my CD player that I hear the problem. Would it be best for me to burn at a very low speed rather than that at 48x for example.

The problem may be a couple of things.

1. The CD's are a super cheap brand, and scratch easily (maybe it goes through when you write on them).
2. The CD player, if it runs on batteries, could be low on power
3. The CD player may be old, or have some other problem. Try putting in a regular audio CD to see if the problem is just the player and not your burned CD's.

Hope this helps :)

#4: your blank could has some dust on it, try blow on it with air bef. recording. Also avoid touching the non-label side of the disc. At my last job, I make CDs blanks.
Thks Starwarsman. :D

Try burnign slower ... people who like to burn fast dont realize burning fast is a bad idea :)

For "troubleshooting" id go all the way down to 8x but my "normal every day" burns are usualy 24x
