MW2 Jumped to level 70?

Hey all. Was just playing Modern Warfare 2 online in a typical deathmatch.
Did actually really well in one round, killed 10 people in a life, which is really good for me. Anyway I don't remember exactly but I think I killed someone and I got like 13,000 XP and now I'm level 70. I was 22 I think.

Any idea how this happened? Hacker? Should I worry about any security issues now?
 
Looks like you were playing on a hacked server, or at least with a hacking player. It has happened to me twice before.

If you are worried about security risks you can uninstall and reinstall the game. Run a virus scanner to see if there is anything on your system.

If you just want to reset your player I found a way to delete all of my user files when it happened to me. I forgot exactly where it was but it was somewhere in steam apps/user files I think :confused: I'll try to find it again.

You could always just prestige and start over from 0 again.

Its a hacked server. They basically changed the xp given to a player from 50 to like 13,000. Its one of the FastXP Rank servers.
 
Well today I played on what I know was a hacked server. Basically you could jump as tall as buildings and had AC130 weapons. Called Walking AC130 I think. I didn't get an XP jump from that though. On the one that I jumped it was giving me normal XP until that one kill.

Where do I prestige?
 
There is an option when you go into the barracks or something like that and there is a prestige button.

Yeah I found the Prestige button and went ahead and did it. Thanks for the help. Kind of annoying that it happened but oh well.

Happened to me once and I got Steam banned over it, happened when I was at like 67 or 68 too. Pissed me off so much especially since Steam refuses to remove the ban. I ****ing hate Steam. :mad:
 
yeah i have had it happen twice never got banned, also got this neat aim helping thing, but that stopped when i closed it and opened it again.
 
I never cared about the accomplishment, I've done high xp servers on pc (non PB on CoD 4 and the like) after I've done it legit. I like slowly earning perks and weapons because you get a better feel for what works and what doesn't for you.
