hmmmm ever since i upgraded my computer to a sempron 2600+ my vga card is just... actin up. recently i've been playin cs. then a while into playing, everyting just freezes and the last 1 sec of sound is just repeated for like 10 seconds. then the screen goes blank and turns back on again and my game is normal. then i keep playin, and the same thing happens. im like... wtF?????? and i lag now too, no its not my internet. i checked. b4 when i was running on 800mhz, i didnt lag, but now with 1.6ghz, im laggin. wtf???? any ideas? on how to stop this?

i haven't a clue really.....check to make sure everything is secure and also make sure its not overheating or something i guess......what was your other processor?

well today, i opened up my computer and checked all the connections. and even uninstlaled the vga card, took it out, put it back in, and reinstalled the drivers. nowww it doesnt lagg. BUT, it still shuts off and on after a while.... wat should i do? its reli pissing me off when i play games

well, i set it to 75 hz. how do u knoe the mode of the vga card? i think it still had this problem when it was on 60hz

so noone reli has any ideas? now my monitor WONT even turn back on when it crashes during game. it just keeps off on standby mode while i can still hear and play my game, but im blind. cuz its black.... nothing on monitor, but game still works...

Cooling?

Well, Im no expert but i have a 9600 Pro and what i did since it didn't have a fan was get a PCI fan and put it right below it although im not even sure if thats safe or not....?

well.. first. try to play the game while its set to the lowest settings.
( it may not be fun, but then at least the video card isnt under load, so, if its overheating, then it whouldnt or should take longer on the lowest settings.)

you can also try taking off the sidepanel of the case. and maybe let a FAN blow air into it. because if its running normally then, you're shure something is overheating then..
