My Book Gone

I have a 400gig USB 2.0 WD My Book that I use for backup purposes. Once a week I backup using Windows backup utilty and also do a manual backup by copying and pasting. Today I start my computer and there is no My Book under My Computer. All cables are fine and everything looks good.

I then unplig the usb cable from one usb port and plug it into another and it instantly pops up. Any reason for this? Would a system restore to a point yesterday make it work on the previous port? My mouse is USB and it works fine in the port where the My Book was so any ideas?

It may have just been a bad connection or some dirt on the connector that was fixed when unplugging it/changing USB ports...does the computer now recognize the HDD in the port that didn't work, or does it still not work?

Anyway, as long as it's working on one, you don't need to worry about anything...

I have the mouse plugged into that port and it works fine, but the My Book still won't work in that particular port. I have no idea why that would be.
