I have been pondering on which to go with amd or intel. I am only going to use this machine for gaming once in awhile. I want a quick machine for encoding movies or surfing the net. which of these two builds will perform better? cooler? easier to build? any input aprecciated. and if there are some hardware conflicts please suggest better equiptment. i will most likely not be overclocking so take that into consideration

get the 4300 if ur oc'ing, its the same processor with a 9x multiplier except u cant use virtualization (2 os). same cache.

or

wait for the 4300 to drop in price, and for the 6320 and 6420 to come out with 4mb cache

if you oc the core2 to 3ghz+ it will just tear up the amd for gaming

at stock speeds the 6000+ would be faster than e6400+ and i would suggest a better chipset for AMD board.

The chipset on the board, you need atleast a 570 shipset and if you plan on going SLI you would want to get the 590. But i wouldn't settle for nothing less than a 570...

Not trying to be the party crasher but I would wait till this summer, with AMD coming out with the Agena and Kuma. Thats what I,m doin. It would be my luck they will release a Kuma for the same price that will kick the crap of a 6000. Plus with the price war, no telling how cheap they will go for! Unless you just dont have a system now I would wait a few months.

if AMD is making the agena and kuma this sumemr, i would wait for it, you can always research the specs and see if they fit you, but if you need a better PC now, i would prefer the 6000+

At the moment Intel CPUs are the way to go, they perform better, use less power and generate less heat.
