No doubt someone has played an annoying practical joke on me but when browsing I get my search engines direct me to german website, warning messages in german and all downloads in german. This is very irritating and I would like to know how to change it back to the UK.

I'm using XP and Internet Explorer.

I just found something suggesting I type "ncr" after the web page I want. That seems to have a positive effect with google but I don't know if any other sites or programmes will still be a problem.
