Hey guys/gals, I'm a first time builder, I recently posted here about a budget micro atx build, got everything set, but I made a few revisions to that, I want an even cheaper build, looking to do some light to moderate gaming, like playing newer games around medium settings, I would like to check out and see if everything is compatible, also some more money saving tips would be helpful! I am looking for the range around 450$, I know this is above 500, but what can I do to get it under 500$?Here it is! Thanks guys! This is a MICRO ATX build, I'm a college student, I need the portability.

Thanks guys, any help is GREATLY appreciated!!! :D

this is a nice setup you have here.
if you can, try to get a SSD hard drive for games if you are going to play games ofcourse. SSD is faster than a HDD S/ATA

Do you have an operating system?

Thanks for the replys guys!
Yes, I have Windows 7 Home edition which my father bought a while back.
So, is this setup compatible and ready to go?
I also added those in Benny Boy, thanks!

Swap PSU to:

Cheaper, still very good quality and still plenty of power

From that money saved, swap the motherboard to

You can not get much worse than Biostar, you are getting yourself there a better quality board and also a better chipset in terms of features and performance

Swap the memory for:

Better quality and, thanks to the $10 off promo, cheaper

I would go with a cheaper case, and up your graphics card. And by cheaper, I don't mean less quality. Look at some coolermasters, like the 912.

You are going to nwant a faster hdd also. 5400 rpm won't cut it you need a 7200 rpm model. You will have to do some shopping and watch for deals to get one. I bought a 1 tb F3 last week for $80 so they can be found.

Thanks guys!
The current problem I'm having is finding a SMALL Micro ATX case w/ ALOT of room for a powerful GPU, I'm trying to find something cheaper than the dragon slayer, but the dragon slayer has A TON of room for a massive graphics card, that's why I chose that case, any suggestions? thanks!

Alright guys, I found a case that is much cheaper that will actually make this an even better budget build, which is great! I know I should go with a better graphics card, you guys recommended, but, I'm trying to get this micro ATX build as cheap as possible, I'm tight on cash, all I want to know is if these components will all work in harmony (or if you have even more money saving items, it would be highly appriciated!). Thanks a lot guys!

As for the hard drive, I will shop around for one, my cousin is a huge computer guy, I could ask him if he has one he can sell me or whatnot.

Thanks a lot though guys, you have been a lot of help! It is greatly appreciated!

Well, that's convenient!! Thanks!

Your car looks like my old LT1 formula! My bad off topic...

If that is your car in your avatar.

Yes it is my car, it's just a v6 Firebird, with WS6 wheels and blackout taillights, I've been shopping around for an LT1 or LS1 Bird' to add to the collection, but also been thinking about just staying v6 for mpg's and insurance, but I'm a huge car guy!

Looks great, just double check to make sure you have a proper retail windows 7 rather than an oem one.

What's wrong with OEM editions?

I currently have and running OEM edition of windows 7. I bought the OEM edition from a computer store. I perfer these type of copies because they are cheaper. I can stick it on any PC i see fit, only can run one at a time because of the key code, but really doesn't matter.

So i'm curious why you say not an OEM one? :P

I didn't even know they have OEM versions of Windows, but either way, it says on the case Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium. So is my build all set and good to go? Thanks!
