i think my cdrom is disabled...how do u enable or unlock it thanks

First check the obvious like is it enabled in the BIOS, then check power and data cables. If you mean it somehow got disabled in device manager, then bring up device manager. In XP, (right click My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager) and select the cdrom drive from the drop list and reenable it under the general tab down at the bottom where it says device usage. (XP and 2000) Can't remember exactly how it looks in 9x device manager but same idea. Hope this helps....

How did you manage to disable it? You can check through the device manager and you can also see if the power or SATA/IDE plug got bumped out.
