My computer and Wireless

In my house, my familiy has a 1.2mb plan. There is always around 5 or 6 computer using the internet. 1 of them downloading music and stuff. Im mostly a pc gamer and i require good internet, I also download a lot of movies but with my crappy internet im unable to get fast internet. So i was wondering
1. My HP desktop can recieve (via the yellow cable in my wall) internet and spread it to anyone in my room. Can someone explain me why and how my computer do this?
2. THIS is the real question for this thread...I cant do anything in my house with 60kb/s....I need more internet...Can someone give me cheap solution :s? im good with 200Kb/s. All for me ofcourse I will not be sharing it...So a USB adapter with internet or a internet card. Anything that can help me in my situation i am all ears...
 
The only 2 things that can help you is to upgrade your speed package or only download/play games when no one else is. And no need to double post your issue, one thread is good enough.

Upgrading is impossible atm.. My dad is not willing to upgrade the internet, but maybe i can pay it with some of my money. A small Plan per month maybe... I just dont really know where to start...

And sorry of the double thread i didnt really know where to post it.
