My computer has stopped working.
I switched it on today to find that no picture is appearing on the monitor. It just flicks between the Analog and digital signals and then goes into stand by. If I press the on button on the front of the computer it sometimes takes the normal amount of time to switch the computer off, but then it switches off straight away, even if I leave it the same amount of time from turning it on to turning it off.
The computer has wanted to install Windows Updates for the last few months, but has stopped it from doing it, because last time I did it stopped working. When it had turned off I noticed that it had not cut the power to the wireless keyboard receiver and the USB hub, so I turned the computer back on, and used the red shut down button on the Vista login screen, which it looks like it has installed the updates.
Someone came into the my work place today and said their computer had also installed its updates yesterday and when it was switched on this morning, it wasn't working, so he tried to go back to the last known working configuration, which didn't work, so he had to go back to an older configuration.
I think the Updates have been installed and have stopped the nVidia drivers from working, so the question is how can I roll back Windows, without the use of a working monitor?
The computer is a self build.
