My computer intermitantly disconnects from my network

I have an hp notebook that, ever since I bought it will just disconnect from my network randomly. in my room i only get a max of low signal. but if i walk two feet out of my room i get full signal.. what could cause this??
 
Interference from something you are near, mine did that until I realized that the wall next to me was metal and stopping the signal.

What kind of router do you have...B,G,N?
 
Thats what i was thinking too, so do you think I should just buy a usb patch cable and run it to a usb wireless adapter outside my room?
