Just in case anyone feels like knowing how slow my computer is.
(i need somthing better)

Processor:AMD K-6 350 Mhz
RAM:128 MB
OS:XP home
Graphics:ATI3D thingy 4mb onboard ram woohoo!
Monitor:CRT probably 15"
An old printer and scanner
some type of speakers
2, 6GB hard drives
a cd burner X48
DSL (slow) I can get about 25K/sec download
I'm only 13 so my buget right now is $10
meaning no possible upgrades

:(

Ahha man I feel your pain. I had a system quite similar to that one (well not THAT slow :)) until I got a job. How does XP run on that system?
 
Hey get a job like I did and you can upgrade. I have a k-6 around here someware, im surprised windows with run on with with that configuration. And I think his internet is slow because his nic+is slow. And my computer is dumb also, infact computers can be the dumbest things in the world at times. Its the fact that they can do so much that makes um look smart. ;)
 
He is 13, i seriously doubt he can legally get a job anywhere. Maybe mow lawns?

I haven't been able to upgrade for years either, don't worry about it. I'm 17 and can't find a job...now THAT sucks. Nowhere wants me:(
 
I dont know if you (Camper) saw my thing in the OS section but anyway i only 1 copy of XP and my computer ate my win 98 CD
 
thats not my only computer
another one I have is a dell optiplex GXa
the processor is 233 mhz, 96 ram, cd rom drive, floppy ,4 gb hd ,old modem and a wired network card.

I had a job when I was 14 for 12.50 an hour heehee, and when i was 10-13 I was mowing llawnds for 10$'s a peice, and i ran thoughit all(I was in good shape_ so i could do at least 3 in a hour. Thats good pay.

Well now I'm 15 and I'm jobless since about 2 days before I turned 15, I kind of pissed off my boss by charging this guy 20$'s extra for something (custom welding place) and keeping the money. Conisdering on how many times i did It i made so much money iot was almost worth it haha, expect now I'm board. ther are a few jobs I could take, but like 4 bucks a hour, becuase I can't legally work so they screw me over isn't that appealing.

I just buy and re-sell. Wait for the good deal's. Its giving me "enough" money, but i don't do much work so im happy with it.

You have to be 16 or older to work in my city, and thats for $5.50 an hour (minimum wage). Some places take 17 year olds for good pay ($10 an hour or more) but alot of places (radio shack specifically) wont hire you until your 18, and even that is pretty rare.

In my city its 15.5 WITH a job permit, ot 18 without one, but that doens;t mean you cant work anyways :)

It's not really impressive, though i didn't do much with it.
but the main idea is do as much as you can with them.
when they can't help you anymore, then upgrade is necessary.
just a sugestion, you can mob your parents for this upgrades. only when necessary.
 
When I was 17 I worked for my mom as an accounting clerk for $8/h
I worked in a Geotechnical lab when i was 18 for $10.25/h
and now Im 19 and working in a testing department for video games for $8/h
 
If it make you feel any better when I was 13 I did not have a computer of my own. I did have a family computer that had the following specs

Cpu: intel 486DX (66mhz)
Ram: 8mb
harddrive: 200mb
operating system: DOS (forgot the version)
internet connection: dialup modem
