Yeah, I came home today from my orchestra concert (we played at the Arlene Schnitzer!), booted my computer, and the graphics are totally screwed up. Low resolution, trippy colors, and really grainy, almost plaid. I tried updating/reinstalling drivers, this didn't work. I tried rebooting, same deal. Then I tried booting ubuntu, and the graphics are fine, so its probably not my card. Anyways, this is what it looks like:

What to do? I really don't want to reinstall vista....

brian, i took your advice, and used vista restore, which fixed it. my last restore point was yesterday, so hopefully nothing else is affected.

i'm completely confused as to the cause of this, but its fixed now, so no worries.

ok cool, i dont think it touches any files you have in your documents. only settings but i could be wrong

I know this is completely off topic, but what orchestra are you in? I've played in the Schnitzer once before and it's really amazing, the acoustics are incredible, if you sit on stage with one instrument you can find where to point your instrument for perfect reverb, it's really cool.

and what instrument are you guys playing? I play the piano, i have to teach myslef now, my old teacher moved away :(

I play clarinet in the Portland Youth Philharmonic.

And yeah, it does sound amazing. It amplifies everything, so that you can really hear the subtlety.

Awesome I played clarinet for one year in MYS but hated it, now I'm just studying privately but next year I'll be at U of O.
