My computer not secure?

Hello everyone...
I have norton internet security 2006 installed. but it seems people are accessing my computer.
Now I'm not really sure what is going on. but when checking the connection log in the software ... there are all kinds of IPs linking to all over the world (connections from my desktop to their ips).
i'm not sure what is going on. but i thought software like this is supposed to block connections on ports.

anyways, I must also mention that i'm using bitcomet

what can I do?

Well:
- I would never ever use Norton, to resource hungry 24/7 and completely useless.
- Although not personally lots of people (Buzz1927) are particularly good at spotting problems via a HijackThis log file so post one of those if possible.

Hi, I'll try to give you a hand here.

I would not use Norton. The only time I ever got a virus, I was using Norton. Blew my hard drive. I now use AVG Free and AVG AntiVirus, Comodo Firewall, Spy Terminator, and CCleaner. The best part is they are all free! Haven't had a problem since. Personally, I would dump Norton and use the software I mentioned.

If you like, you can download all those programs, except Comodo. Disable Norton, run them all and find out if you have a virus, and get rid of it. If you don't want to do that, I suggest going to BleepingComputers HijackThis Log help forum. Those guys are great and will get you fixed up.

i really like the idea of norton where i don't have to care about anything. it will check everything, update automatically, and the whole lot of softwares are one package.
I'll be lost if i have so many programs running and trying to keep track of them!

well, if norton is really not that good, and so far i've heard bad stuff about it from at least half a dozen of people... i will move on to other software. anyhow i only have three weeks left of my subscription.
Now i'm thinking about getting MacAfee... what do you think ?
is it any better or just the same as norton?

I agree. I use AntiVir Guard as my anti-virus and it is excellent. Best anti-virus I have ever used. I don't use those other programs Kabu listed (comodo and avast), but I DO use Ad-Aware for anti-spyware, and THAT program kicks ass. It has to be the most famous antispyware program out there, and is completely free. It catches so much you'll be amazed.
The combination of those two programs keeps me problem free.
I have used Norton before, and don't like it as much as AVG, so I would recommend googling it, going to their site and downloading it.

If you don't like it, you can always just uninstall it in seconds. No risk.
 
Go out and spend 50 dollars on a decent router that supports SPI firewall and NAT, and you will no longer have this problem.

I think your problem may come from this entry in your HJTL

that is not a standard MS file, and any kind of .exe file in your \WINOWS\system32 directory should automatically raise flags.

I googled it and found out its a trojan downloader and is giving people "back door access" to your computer.

My guess is that it got onto your system before you had updated your security software.

I just want to make my point clear also, you really need to get a router that supports SPI firewall and NAT. Those two features make your home network that much more secure. NAT (network address translation) does not allow remote hosts to connect to your network. So basically anything trying to attack you can't connect from outside. As for the trojan downloader that could have come from anywhere, but I would guess it probably came from a P2P service like Limewire or one of the worse ones.
