My computer shivers...?

This may sound a little odd, but recently for some reason my monitor has been shivering. Now let me explain.

First off, it happens at random times. the text/image/whatever on my screen shivors really quickly side to side, it happens for only a half a second. Now I know it not just my monitor, because it happens on both my monitors at the same time, they are on two totaly different graphics cards (same computer), both are practicaly brand new (one is 6 months old, the other is a year old) they are both CRT's. Here is something else to throw into the weirdness, My speakers send out large blasts of static at the same time my monitors shiver. Both my monitors are connected to a power surge protecter, so its not power surges happening in the AC.

So Im thinking, its not my monitor shivering, but something else, some sort of EMP effecting both monitors and speakers.

EVEN MORE wierdness, our land line phone has been putting out huge amounts of static (different type of static from my speakers) and the land line phone sometimes doesnt even work at all wheras a week ago, it worked perfectly. The landline phone is connected to the completely other end of the house. (and if it matters its an old 900Mhz)

The only new thing I have gotten in the past week-ish. Is a bluetooth dongle (made by IOGear) and a cellphone (E815 by Motorola). Could these be effecting the electronic equipment in my house? Or is it possible something else? *stairs into space at the aliens*

was using my old crt the other week and it has a function on it called "degauss"....

when you press it the screen kindof shivers really quickly as if it is focusing itself??

dont really know much about it but maybe its sumit to do with that??

as for the feed back on your phone-i have the same problem every now and again, i just put it down to my computer being on the internet.

sometimes its not very loud but other times its really anoying

"try using phone when pc is switched off-then try it when its on"... could be you have a shite internet connection or phone line

decauss, is basicly removing the electric charge from the 'tube' of the monitor. and because of the quite fast magnetic field change, the screen kinda bounces :)

you also know that when you place a magnet next to a CRT, the colours change and such? same happens when you have a cable producing a strong elecrto magnetic field.

as for the bluetooth.. bluetooth uses 2,41GHz bandwitch.. i doubt thats causing the problem to be honest :)

Do you happen to keep your cell phone near your computer? If you do, call your cell phone from your land line with the cell phone near your computer, if it does the same thing a couple seconds before the cell phone rings, then it's your cell phone. I'm not sure why, but cell phones interfere with CRT monitors, and speakers (amplifiers to be exact). It happens with every cell phone, and the only way to stop it is to keep your cell phone more than 5 feet away from your monitor/speakers.

I'm not sure what could be causing your land line static...

Hmm, I dont think it has something to do with degause. When my monitors shiver they dont make the loud "ka-bang" that happens when my monitos degause. Dont most new (new as in, from the last 10 years) monitors automaticaly degause when they are turned on anyway?

I tried calling my cellphone from another cellphone (both cells right next to each other, right next to my monitors. And unfortunutly the monitors didnt shiver. So I called again...again...again...again...it didnt seem to effect my computer equipment at all. But then I noticed something, my speakers wherent on. So I turned them on, and called.

Holy crap, my monitors shivered, I called again. They shivered again. Just to be safe I called a third time. They shivered a third time.

Well thanks for all the help. Its weird why my phone effects it....only when my speakers are on. But now I need to find a new place to stick my phone. Sigh, my desk was such a nice place too.

:)

haha, I know how you feel. Everytime I sit at my desk I put my phone by the keyboard. And everytime, I'm always interrupted by this loud "BU-BUDUP-BUDUP-BUDUP-BUDUP!", then "if you scared muthaf*cka go to church.."

Go flip off the breaker that your pc is on. Now see what else is running on that same circuit? It could be a brownout (Voltage drops below 110v) if you have something like a microwave, window ac, vacume, refridgerator or anything else that draws alot of amps on startup.

The only thing on my breaker is my computer (CPU, 2 monitors, printer, scanner, speakers) clock, fan, and my flourecent lamp.

Im almost positive its my phone, I have all of them off, except my computer/monitors/speakers, and ill call my phone, and my monitor will shiver.
