My computer stopped working all of a sudden?

Hey guys.

So about 15 minutes ago, my computer has just suddenly stopped working.
My computer was going perfectly fine until i had some automatic updates happening. The updates finished downloading and i noticed that my both of my cores (i only have 2) were working at 40%+. I decided to restart my computer to apply the updates and to just give my computer a refresh.

I restarted my computer and for some reason, i cant see my login screen. When my computer restarted, everything was normal until where it had to load the login screen. My screen goes black and stays black. I can only see my mouse cursor and can only move my mouse cursor. i tried to ctrl, alt + delete, and nothing happened. I tried pulling out the cable that connected to the power supply and plugging it back in... still didn't work. But now i am going to give my computer a rest and try again. And no, i dont think this is a moniter problem because my moniter was working perfectly throughout the turning on stage. it's just that my computer wont load the login screen?

Sounds more like a software issue to be honest. I.e. it was fine up until a Windows update, now you can't use Windows.

Try booting up into safe mode (Usually F8 when booting up) and see if that works okay.

If so, try a system restore?

What operating system are you running?

Normally when you perform a system update, your system automatically creates a restore point in case of emergencies like this.. You could always restore it to before the updates.

Did you hear any beep while restarting the computer?
First try to boot you computer in safe mode? and check if eveything is ok!
Secondly restart computer in normal mode if you still see black screen? try removing your RAM one by one...it could be that one of your RAM does not work properly...check your all RAM and RAM slots by changing your RAM from one slot to anyother...if you still see the problem...then it could be your VGA problem...
