My Computer Turns On On Its Own!

I recently built a computer using a GIGABYTE GA-MA69GM-S2H 690G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard, and An Antec case. (See Specs Below). My problem is, I would shut down my computer at night as normal: start-shut down (Windows Xp). I would then go to bed. I would wake up in the morning, and my computer will be running! The first night I thought it was my cat or something, but then it happened every night for the next week! I decided to stay up and see what was happening. About 30 minutes after I shut it down, it just randomly started up! I did it again, and it did the exact same thing! When I say start up- I mean normally. It posts, then boots into windows. I have resulted in unplugging my computer when it is off. I have made no changes to my computer, it was working fine before this. Please help me find what is wrong!

it may be a short, but i really have no clue.

i would also have to say check the bios.
some motherboards allow the comp to be turned on via a mouse click or a button being pressed on the keyboard or even if the phone rings via the modem.
set all of the values on the bios to default.
hopefully that works

Go into your bios settings and look for the "remote wake-up" settings. Sounds like you have one of them turned on ("wake on lan" is a common one).

Good luck!

I have an eMachines T3065 PC which does exactly that also, but not every night, its randomly and usually when I am in the room. Even when its not plugged into a LAN or Wireless Internet, so I changed the power supply, thinking it was that, still does it. So I am doing what drummeralec is doing, and just unplugging it when its not in use.

I personally think its some electromagnetic force or something. It stumped me, but then again, that eMachines has always done it randomly, ever since we bought it back in 2004.
