I'm using an IBM C.P.U and a DELL monitor.Anytime i on my computer it firsts displays the IBM Logo and then when booting it will say memory failed and finally say "1962 No operation system found press f1 to repeat boot sequence" and i keep pressing f1 and it keeps displaying that error.
Pls i really need someone who can help.

Sounds like you have a multitude of issues here.

1. Memory
2. Hard drive

Do you have anyone that has computer knowledge that can help you diagnose the issues? You will have to test the hard drive and memory.

Open up the case and have a look or look in Device Manager and tell us what disk it detects.

Go into Control Panel, go to System, then on the left side of the System window you'll see Device Manager. Click on it and there you go.

That's providing you're running Vista, 7 or 8.

But I've just realised that my advise is useless to you if your PC can't boot, so instead, go into the BIOS and see if it finds any drives. For an IBM PC, keeping pressing F1 as soon as you boot up the PC and you'll be in the BIOS.

i pressed the F1 key and it took me to the System set up utility in a blue background with list:
System summary
I/o ports
Start up options
Advance set up
And many more i can't remember now what shouild i do

I have successfully changed the boot order to CD-ROM.But i get this error during window xp set up:
Set up didn't recognize any Hard drive installed press f3 to quit.

Do you have a SATA hard drive? If so, you may need to press F6 whilst Windows setup is loading and then insert the SATA driver which should be on a floppy disk.

If you don't ave the SATA driver floppy, you need to find out what motherboard you have and download the SATA driver from the board manufacturer's site, then copy it to a floppy disk.

A few possibilities here.

1. Issue with attached hard drive.
2. Sata controller in ahci/raid mode instead of IDE/compatiblity
3. Using a pre SP1 xp install cd.

When you turn the pc on can you hear the hard drive spin up?

@spirit how do i know the type of motheboard i'm using so as to visit their site to download the sata driver? i dont have the computer manuals.

The easiest way to tell is to take off the side panel and look at the board itself for a model number printed somewhere.

Yeah, that's what you've got to do.

Is this PC from a manufacturer such as Dell, HP, Acer, IBM etc etc or is it one which has been custom-built? Look on the case for any brand badges and model numbers.

Will changing the hard disk solve the problem i mean the error "setup could not find any hard disk installed in your computer" press f3 to quit.?
