my cpu starts to run on a 100% of usage with some applications

i have a problem with my pc, and is that everytime that i open certain
application my cpu starts to run on a 100% of usage and i don´t know what is happening because before i did not have this problem. The applications that are making my cpu to run on a 100% of usage are: quicktime, winamp, nero, itunes, and this is happening like two months ago. What would be the problem and how can i fix it? Also, i have formatted my hard disk for like 10 times already and i do not know if that would be the problem, though the problem started before i formatted the hard disk for the last time. Please help me on this and thankyou in advanced!
 
welcome to the forums, u need to read the rules cuz u cant multipost the same topic, and im not sure, give us the specs of ur pc, how much ram do u have
