All I need is a driver for my CPU. I recently upgraded to Vista, though, and that's the problem. I have a AMD Athalon 64 X2 5000+, but the drivers on the AMD site only go up to XP. For such a huge company I would think that they had drivers for Vista, but who knows. Any guidance? Do they exist somewhere? Will I have to downgrade? Help me, for God's sake.
 
What do you mean as in a driver for your CPU. You dont have to install a Processor Driver. Unless you talking about the AMD dual core Optimizer. That just helps some in certain games.

All I need is sound, and yes, I've already installed my sound card drivers, so I was thinking I need it b/c I need a driver for my mobo. When I try to install that driver, it asks for the cpu driver, so it's a huge snafu. Is that right?

I have 4 GB RAM, Athalon 64 X2 5000+ cpu, nvidia GeForce 8400 GS, and and ecs ka3 mvp mobo, running on Vista Eternity. Can't seem to get it to work.
