My daughter pounded on the keyboard and now i can't get online

Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions?? Ideas?? I tried system restore - but do not have a restore date previous to when this happened and the "work offline" is NOT checked.

My daughter pounded on the keyboard and now, when i open IE, it says "this page cannot not be displayed".

Although, I can connect to Yahoo Messenger - it says I have emails - so I know i'm at least connected to the internet - I just can't "browse" / check my email on IE

That's a hell of a description. If you can still connect to Messenger then you have an active connection. I'd recommend installing another browser to see if this is an Internet Explorer issue. If it is, a quick reinstall of IE would solve everything. I assume you have another computer or browser since you've made it here. It's hard to say for sure since we don't know anything besides she pounded on the keyboard. While I would say that shouldn't modify any connection settings directly, it is difficult to guess what she may have opened/modified during the 'pounding' so to speak.
 
yea try mozzila firefox.. its rather good and if you can get onto that then you know its just somthing with IE
 
I'm guessing your daughter didn't actually do this. Anyway.
It seems you are still connected to the internet so this problem is related to internet explorer. Download Firefox, internet explorer sucks anyway
