Please someone help me. Here's my dilemna. I have a D-Link router and wireless card in my desktop. Also a D-Link wireless card in my laptop. Everything was working fine, until one day my computer could no longer connect, and this was when I was surfing normally for a couple of hours. I have all my major programs and files in my desktop, so its my main computer. For some reason, my laptop could access my wireless network, but my desktop can't. It can't be the range since I'm using this laptop 2 feet from my desktop. My computer is detecting the network fine, and is at full strength, but it unfortunately won't connect.
I've tried everything from designating the IP address and DNS server, to reinstalling the drivers, to try running "Winsockxpfix". I'm running out of options here. My network card (DWL-520) isn't tech supported by D-Link anymore, and I don't want to risk buying a new card when the problem might be in Windows XP.
I've been surfing the web for days for a solution, and nothing is working. If there's anyone that has the answer for me, it would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance...
