Okay, I'll try and explain this as best I can, it might be confusing.

Originally, I had windows xp pro installed on c:, but needed to reinstall b/c of some probs i was having. I did a fresh install on my second partition d: and then deleted windows off of c:, did a fresh install on c: and then deleted windows off of d: again. So now im pretty much back to where I started with the exception of one thing. In "documents and settings" I have all the documents for the login names from the old installation and all the documents for the login names with the new installation.

However, on the old installation, I had made my login name folder in "documents and settings" a private folder. So now, when i try and access that folder with the new installation, it wont let me. What can I do?

thanks lorand but that didn't work. In fact, the folder doesn't even have a security tab when i go to properties.

Are you logged in as an administrator?

yep, i tried it logged on as admin and just a user with admin privileges, no luck.

To get the security tab, go
Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> [uncheck] Use simple file sharing
