my family just ordered a new dell what can i do?

Oh do explain. Correction, many do ship with only PCI. But no new boards are shipping from OEMs, AFAIK, with AGP slots, they went out with 478, which Dell stopped using, only specialty boards were made for hobbyists that still had AGP on LGA 775, and even certain ones with DDR RAM.

No, not neccisarily. Many new value boards ship with PCI. AGP is not an at least, it's outdated.

Ehh, I wouldn't stick with sub par performance just for a one year warranty. The parts in a Dell are cheap enough to replace if something goes wrong.
