My Fans

Hey guys i recently built a computer for my high school senor project. i have several question about the fans, my last build computer i turn the side cover out, so there are a lot of dust in them. the new PC that i built have 3 fans on the side, should i make the air blow out of the case or suck in?? i think that i should blow out, because it prevent dust from coming in. but is that a good idea?? What was your senior project based on that had you build the computer? I have to do a senior project next year and may do this if I can find a basis to do it off of.

As for the fan position, I'd think of having two blow out and have the third blow in, but I don't know if that is good or not. Otherwise, I'd have all three blow out.

Heres an example of what could be a good idear. Since you have 3 fans. 2 Could pump out the hot air. While one shoots in the cool air and help push the warm air out also creating a mini wind to help cool. http://img507.imageshack.us/my.php?image=caseexamplehe3.jpg

you can do anything for ur senior project, ahhah build an engine to a car, ect. hahah i just chose to build a computer cause it fun.

Actually i have 6 fans, should i have all of them blow out?> is that such a good idea?

I don't think it matters since no matter the fan is sucking in or blowing out the air is gonna get into the pc one way or another taking the dust with it.

And make sure you coy it down to the milimeter!

with 6 fans, try to do this if possible...

2 front fans=sucking air in.
2 rear fans=blowing air out.
1 top fan=blowing air out.
1 side fan=blowing air out

With this, i figure (and I may be figuring incorrectly ) that you will be able to keep a good front to rear airflow going, and the air at to top and sides will be eliminated.

I may be very wrong though

Front+top+side=In
Rear=Out

Push all the cooler air in that you can, and use the back 2 as an exhaust to pump the excess hot air out

That will be the most efficient I believe

the side an top will cool your CPU nice.
that is basicly what i am doing
front in to cool my HDDs an it also gets some cool air into the main part of the box
2 side fans in one above my CPU an one above my GPU they ceep very very cool
an a rear out it works fine for me stock fans on CPU an GPU, CPU idles at 27-30 an at 100% usage for 2 hours it sits at 44-47
