My first custom build...

He would have a limited upgrade path because the A10 is the top of the line APU for socket FM2. Which means that if he wants to have a better CPU then he would have to upgrade his motherboard and CPU.
This is the exactly the point I was trying to make.

As for the 'good upgrade path' bit. Sure, new FM2 processors will come out, but they will also be relatively low-end and not really worth the upgrade from the 5800K. The only line of processors which would be worth the upgrade from the 5800K would be the processors on the AM3+ socket, which means a new motherboard.

Earlier I noticed you said 'Spirit said FX-4100 which is a terrible chip.' I actually recommended the FX-4300, which is a newer Vishera chip. It's a big improvement over the 4100.

You are missing the point there and are obviously not that intelligent. You are seriously going to say that a A10 is a better processor? It makes no sense. Get a FX4300 and a 990FX board. Much better performance.

The A series is not meant to game. It is meant for people that need decent graphics at a low price.

and your little thread there is fine, but if you look at it, overclocked it is about equal to the i3 @ stock.
Exactly.

Honestly, as I've said like 3 times now, just get the i3 or the FX-4300. Looks like the OP likes Intel anyway, so it's probably going to be an i3.

Thanks for all the advise guys. I ended up buying the exact system that I listed here. As usual with Newegg I received everything the next day after ordering and just got done assembling it earlier today. Took me about 4 hours to assemble all the hardware, which I think is pretty good for my first time doing a built from scratch. Everything went amazingly smooth and now I have Win 7 installed and running.

I have another question for you guys: Does anyone here have a similar system to mine (core i3 with 1GB graphics) and is able to play the new Tomb Raider game on high graphics? I want the game but I'm trying to decide whether to risk buying it for my PC or just getting it for either PS3 or Xbox (I have both). I have read amazing reviews that say the PC version of the game is amazing, much better than the console versions, which I think is the case for a lot of games. But I want to know for sure that I will be able to run the game before I buy it.

Hey I wanted to give an update on my build. I am very pleased with this machine. Right now I am playing BF3 on high graphics settings, 1080p, 60 fps, with no issues. I am really impressed by this i3, its a beast for gaming. Doesn't get over 80% load, 40 deg C during BF3. My Radeon 7770 is definitely the bottleneck, I tried to push BF3 up to "ultra" settings but it crashed on me. So I just ordered an XFX 7870 from NewEgg :D. Free Tomb Raider and Bioshock coupon with it. Will be incoming on Monday. With the 7870 and the i3-3220 I should be good to go with any modern game on the market. And I'll probably get a second 7870 in the future and crossfire them, at the same time I upgrade to i5/i7.

BTW....BF3 on PC is amazing, now I can never go back to console gaming. The next thing on my list is the 27" Dell Ultrasharp U2713.
