My First Desktop Build

Okay, so my old motherboard died/failed and so I decided to just try and construct my first well sought out computer.

Here is a list of what I am ordering/have:
-Asus Motherboard Evo M4A78TD
-AMD Athlon II X2 255 Regor 3.1GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
-ZXT Gaming Case (Brand New Ordered Off of NewEgg)
-4 gigabytes of DDR2
-DVD/CD RW Drive
-MMC/MMS Chip Drive (For camera SD cards and what not)
-HP 2010i monitor/LCD
-Brand New Power Supply (Blanking on brand name)
-320 Gigabyte Hard Drive


How does that build sound?
What games should it be able to handle and what not?

Hi Casey. Welcome

Check the motherboard Ram specs (it takes DDR3). It's a bit dated tho. How much is it? How much do you have to work with and maybe you can get something a little newer?
 
Thanks for the quick reply, i made a typo though. Its an Asus motherboard m4a87td and I've already ordered it all. The parts arrive or should arrive tomorrow. Do i need a newer graphics card as well?

Well the Cpu and motherboard is okay,Although if you have ordered DDR2 memory,it will not work on that DDR3 motherboard,Dont open the memory and return it....get some DDR3 such as this.

As for what games will it play,At the moment not much without a dedicated Gpu of some sort,What games do you intend to play?

You need to find out what exact Power supply you have got,Because that will also determine on what graphics card you will be able to use and if the one you have purchased is any good.
