First post. :)
Hey everyone, just needed some advise on this build or "wishlist" i've been creating...

Okay sooo i just came across some money and wanted to put it into a gaming computer, got tons of advise and ext. from friends that already built a couple PC's already and wanted to give it a shot as well... this is my full build and if theres any thing else i need or that is missing (including wiring) or if any of the products on this list run better with different MotherBoards or what not, please let me in the loop because i'm new to this. but i wanted to order this within a few days!

but here's what i have so far...

you can add a second gtx 580 with that psu if you like. i have a similar psu and i run 2x amd radeon 6950 2gb with unlocked shaders.

also, 500gb gets filled mighty fast with games... i would go with a wd1002faex 1tb, with 64meg cache, its pretty darn fast and good priced.

I will for sure get my camera in on this! thats the least I can do for you guys. well not the least... haha

Megabytes, thanks i will defiantly keep that in mind, if my budget gets a little too high thats probably the first thing I will change!

If I were you I would buy the hard drive you are already looking at for data storage, get the processor I recommended and get a solid state drive for your operating system.

Read speeds are much faster with some solid state drives than hard disk drives.

Take a look at this:

G.SKILL PHOENIX EVO FM-25S2-115GBPE 2.5" 115 gigabyte Solid State Drive - $203

I think you would probably get at least 225 megabyte per second read speeds off that drive. Your other drive would probably only give you around 110 megabyte per second read speeds.

^^THIS :good:

Then I would strongly recommend that you change the PSU to a better brand.
Cooler Master makes Ok-OK PSUs not great but not so bad either.
With such a taxing build like that I would suggest these

All of the above PSU are of amazing quality and will be more than enough for your build and also will provide a lot of headroom for overclocking and adding more HDDs.

yeah but i heard some motherboards say they support it but it actually runs it as a SATAII SSD again.

So what I'm really saying is it even worth the extra money for SATAIII?

Serial ATA 6.0 Gigabit per second ports should get good read speeds from the solid state drive you are looking at. I think the solid state drive would get faster read speeds out of Serial ATA 6.0 Gigabit over Serial ATA 3.0 Gigabit ports.

Thanks everyone for all the help so far! I think i will have my final build soon... Once I acctually can see what I could do money wise, I'll figure it out in a day or so but I'll post it here just to check before I order. :)
