your next step is do what is called "stress-testing". download Orthos from the link above and run it overnight (you may want to run 2 instances, since you have quad-core). if you don't have any errors, you're most likely all set. the longer you run it without errors, the more sure you can be that you have a stable overclock.

that's good. typically with an overclock as small as the one you've done won't cause system instability though. (don't mean to rain on your parade :P)

you should try to push it a bit more. see how far you can get without messing with voltages, ram timings, etc.

Haha no you didnt rain on my parade im actually quite rpoud of myself for my first succesful overlcock haha im going to try and aim for 2.5Ghz now ;)

Ok so i maxed out on 2.4GHz it wouldnt go any higher so i raised the voltage to see if it would make a diffrence then i restarted and the my GPU wouldnt work haha so i had to reset everything back to factory :l haha owell it was an experience i must say  :D

OK UPDATE: Just overclocked my CPU again to 2.4Ghz and now im doing stress testing using ORTHOS then im gong to move onto 3DMark06 to see if its made any difference to my Mark then do a SuperPI for you ;)

What are your temps? Try stress testing with prime95 small ffts. I'd say that it is better than orthos. Here are links to 32bit and 64bit versions.

I am curious did you set all your voltages/memory/timings to manual before starting your overclock?

I didn't the first time and it caused my system to crash at 3.0ghz since it overclocked my memory to far.

Might be worth looking into.
