Hi.

This is my first computer that I'm building on my own.
So I'm looking for some help choosing parts.
I live in Finland, where the parts are expencive, and I don't want to order parts from abroad.
I tried to build a computer on a stores website, and this is what I choosed:
Processor: Intel Core i7 229€
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3 159€
RAM 1: 2*2GB DDR3 119€
RAM 2: 2*2GB DDR3 119€ (Is it possible to have to RAM'S. On the website I can choose up to 4 RAM'S :o? Leijonamicro, sorry the site is in finnish, but "Keskusmuisti" means RAM :rolleyes:
Harddrive: 500GB SATAII 59€
GPU: ATi Radeon HD5750 1GB 149€
Case: Miditower 750w LowNoise 150€
For a this and a soundcard, network card etc.. 1118€

Thats about 200-300€ more than i can pay.

So I looked at a normal store, not PC store and found this
Anttila finnish again, sorry.

I know its HP, but its cheap!
Parts:
Core i5 650
1 Tera harddrive
6GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GT230 1.5 Gt Graphic card.
The case sucks, but!
Look at the price: 899,90 €
Thats over 20050€ cheaper than the custom built.
Good sides:
1.5GB Graphic card vs 1GB
1 Tera vs 500GB
250€ cheaper

Bad sides:
HP (shop built)
Case sucks.
6GB RAM vs 8GB RAM (But who needs 8GB)?

So help me choose the right setup.
I need to buy the bad case Anttila PC, or a cheaper custom built!

Which i7 CPU are you choosing? there is LGA 1156 or 1366 socket!
BTW, the i7 is 299, not 229!!
Probably get i5 750 for 209

Mobo - That mobo is LGA775 socket. won't fit.
If you get i5 750/ i7 860, get asus P7P55DLE

RAM - 2 x 2GB DDR3 1333

PSU -not idea what brand is that...
I recommend Antec EA500 if you use Ati 5750. Get EA650/ BeQuiet 700W if you want a better video card.
 
Is the Anttila "Bad case" pc a good option?
I mean, everything is there, everything is setup up for me.

But the case sucks I think, because its just a normal HP.

How could I get the home build cheaper?
 
With the DYI you get more for your $.

DYI has better upgrade path. With HP you'll be restricted to using some of thier model specific parts(i think, check it out)which are costly.

I'm from Finland as well so I might be able to help you find other stores, if needed. Please answer these questions:
- What will you be using the computer for?
- What is your budget?
- Would you be willing to assemble the computer on your own or do you want it to be assembled by a store?
- Do you have any restrictions on where to buy the computer from (other than what you already mentioned)?

Jimm's PC Store

All the stores should be trustworthy, though I've only ever bought from Jimm's and Multitronic. I did a quick search on the stores I don't have personal experience buying from and they all seem to be legitimate and reliable.

silent rig has a bunch of computers to choose from. Windows 7 adds 110€ to the price. I suggest contacting them and asking them whether the OS is 32-bit or 64-bit because it isn't stated which it is. 64-bit would be best because of the amount of memory as 32-bit can't use more than 3GB.

Lapstore has two computers I'd consider buying:
Computer 1 - 795€ + 105€ (Windows 7)
Computer 2 - 925€ + 105€ (Windows 7)

The GPU in the first computer from Lapstore could even be upgraded to an AMD Radeon HD 6870 and still stay within the 1000€ budget. Lapstore does state in the product info that the parts used can be changed.

And here's a computer I put together, the price depends on where you buy the parts from. I checked the prices on Jimm's, Multitronic and silent rig. You'll still need to get a case, but you should be able to keep the total cost under 1000€.

CPU: Intel Core i5 760
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 or GA-P55A-UD3
RAM: Kingston HyperX 4GB (2x2GB) 1600MHz DDR3 CL9 or lower CL
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6870
Hard drive: Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB
PSU: Corsair VX550
Optical drive: Samsung SH-S223 DVD burner
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit FI OEM
Total: ~875-900€

I will look into this later today.
Any OS is not needed, bought Win 7 64-bit to my crap pc some months ago.
