i am 17 years old and i traded my psp for some pc parts and now im putting it all together.the only bad thing is that i need ram and i have no job :( feel free to comment.i also dont have a proper ps to power it because i lack the 4 pin non molar connector.

parts i have

msi kt6v motherboard
120 gig hd with millenium (i wanna upgrade to vista)
geforce fx 3800
new amd chip (dunno which one)

parts i am buying

2 blue led fans
blue led key board
blue hard drive silencer/cooler
led power supply
(all by logisys)

hope you plan on getting a new HDD or clearing out the one you have now, 'cause Millenium won't upgrade to vista, you need to have XP to do that, or you can go buy the Full version, which is more money and put that onto a new HDD...

If you are getting a new AMD chip, is it going to be Dual Core... If it is, Intel Dual cores are better at the moment and there are more motherboards that have the LGA775 socket.

Don't you mean Geforce FX 5*00, and then AMD 3800+?

About what you are buying; you don't need a hard drive cooler, and don't buy a power supply made my logisys. Just because it has LEDs doesn't mean that it is good.

I agree, DO NOT get Logisys, i bought a 480W, after a month, my PC wouldn't turn on unless i disconnected my webcam, mic(lol), speakers(USB powered)... Only "good thing", they are light as a feather lol :D

Too bad it won't work well as a paper weight because it is so light :P :)

i know right! :P, back to the subject, after that light-weight PSU (lol) i bought a Thermaltake 430W and it works perfectly, so i recommend a Thermaltake, dont know about other brands also i would buy simpler key/mice and normal fans for now, although they may not save you a lot of money but oh well... :)
