My friends computer trouble.

Help, my friend just got tribes vengeace. He installed it and all, but enytime he starts it up within a few seconds his computer freezes. he has a store bot computer and I dont know everything but so far he has some mobo a 60gb or 120gb(cant remember) hard disk 512mb of ram onboard sound and video and a 3000amd prossecor. Now I say he neads a new video card, what do you think.
