My games freeze

Hey I got a new Alienware 17 laptop and it freezes when I play steam games but so far I have only played steam games but it has a 1070 on they and I'll evplaying borderlands 2 not even on max settings and it will freeze 20-40min in and I have to power turn off the laptop and Best Buy has given me a new one and stuff plus Alienware tech support did a stress test and I got 300+fps so I think it's software related maby with steam and my kaspersky internet security

Are you plugged in while gaming or running on battery?

kaspersky is a pretty tight firewall from standard, check those settings and whitelist steam if it isnt already. Also check power settings, put it on max proformance.
