Hey everyone,

I'm new here so please don't be mad if I post in the wrong spot.

Anyway I wanted to show you all my Gaming PC Build which I finished yesterday afternoon and I wanted to ask you all for your opinion ;)

Here are the components:
- Case: Cooler Master HAF X
- CPU: Intel Core i7-2600k
- Motherboard: Asus P8P67 Deluxe
- Graphics Card: Sapphire ATI HD 6950 (2GB; GDDR5)
- RAM: G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL (4GB; DDR3)
- PSU: Corsair HX850W
- Hard Drive: Western Digital WD10EALX (1TB; 32MB Cache; 7200rpm; S-ATA 6Gb/s)
- Optical Drive: LG GH22LS
- Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit OEM with Service Pack 1

So yeah, please tell me what you think of it and what you would've done differently ;)

*EDIT*
I think I should mention that I use/will use the PC for Gaming in highest Graphics, Photo Editing and Video Editing ;)
*EDIT*

Also if you want you can tell me some good Benchmarks so I can compare with you :)

Alright thanks for all your help and looking forward to the replies,

The only thing I would have changed is obviously the cpu to 2500k as you mentioned its a gaming PC.
Rest all the parts look perfect.

But the 2500k is worse than the 2600k isn't it . And by the way, I didn't mention that I also do some photo and video editing. And I don't understand what you mean with "Reset all the parts look perfect" ;) «[*EDIT* Woops it says "Rest" and not "Reset" I just read it wrong sorry ;) *EDIT*]
But thanks for the comment haha :)

Nice Build Mines a step under and its awesome!

Haha yeah but you have 8 gigs of ram which is better than my 4 gigs. I was going to go with 8 gigs but then I had to save up somewhere as I already surpassed my budget by quite a bit ;)
Anyway what's "Windows S. 2008 R2"?
And how do you do it that your build is your signature? I'm new to the forum like already said above ;)
Thanks for helping,

Save money by getting a 2500k and spend what you save on an 8GB ram kit. It will be a better option than a 2600k with 4GB.

Yes, and I have Desktop Experience installed, so it looks exactly like 7, only its free for students. http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/3779/desktopwprime32.jpg
thats my desktop(with other things... lol
and my 2500k is just slightly slower than yer 2600k, but they perform the same in games, because iv OCed mine to 4.5ghz.

And about the sig, just do this...:

Go to your profile,
Click in the site menu, "User CP",
Then "Edit Signature" on the right side of the page.
Type yer build like you would ina word document, or whatever you like.

:D

I agree that a 2500k would be better for gaming (in your situation), especially with a tighter budget. I also would saved money by buying the lower end P8P67 instead of the P8P67 Deluxe, the money saved can be put towards a nice heatsink to OC the CPU with.

Unless you dont plan on Overclocking.

Then you can also save money by not buying the K version, get a more modest PSU, like the Corsair TX650, and put the savings into a 60gb SSD. Your game will load faster, videos/photos render faster, and buy a 2TB for storage.

But then again, this is from Captain Hindsight, and doesnt really help you. ahahahah

If you posted prior to building it, im sure you would of gotten tons of awesome advice from the users around here.

Im new too! just joined this weekend.

Edit* Forgot to say welcome to the forums, and that your computer build and component selection are very impressive. This is why i love PCs, the ability to pick what you want to use and not being told "no"

To everyone ;)
I am of course planning on getting a nice CPU Heatsync to then eventually overclock, but that will come over time. Also, of course one day I'll be upgrading my RAM to 8gigs if not 16 or more ;) You never know.
Oh and I didn't mean that I completely stepped over my budget. I just got to the limit and found that for most people it seems/seemed to work with 4gigs of RAM only ;)
And thanks for all the replies :)

Haha thanks for all your help man ;)
And I will probably eventually maybe overclock my CPU as well some day ;)
I just will need a better Heatsync to do that and not the standard Intel one :)
Thanks again,

Looks like you have pirated games....

Hey Iceyn1pples The specs in your sig show two different GPUs, How do you work with two different GPUs?
Haven't seen it till now.

Ankur, The ATi 6990 is essentially 2 slightly downclocked 6970's on a single PCB. But with a flip of a switch, it sets the clock speeds to the default 6970 and then allow you to OC.

Essentially, im running 3x 6970s in Triple Crossfire but only using 2 slots.

Im new... Either way nice build..

I game as well but there is one thing that caught my eye..

RAM: G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL (4GB; DDR3)

I will never use gskill ram again, as soon as i started pushing it I had bad sectors and it would freeze the game up.. So, I switched to patriot and have had no issues.
