Opps!

Something strange just happen, I logged into my gmail account and saw that I received delivery failure notification for emails I never sent. These emails were sent to addresses I never knew of and the emails had a file attached to it which was written in chinese/japanese/korean and so was the subject in the same language.

What should I do now? ... Is there something else I should be concerned about?

Hello,
i had the same problem, but it's not such a big problem.
This is not a sign of "hacked account".

This is just spam...

it happens not only on gmail, but also on yahoo mail and some others..

Or can be another thing... if you are using a POP-SMTP program, like outlook, then you may have some infections on your pc, if thatàs the case then the virus can send emails with the email client....

but if you are using just the web interface no problem, just change the password if makes you feel better, but really, don't worry.

P.s. anyway make some different scan on your pc for viruses

I am using this e-mail address with few of my web servers to make [email protected] email addresses. Does this may have something to do with the emails sent?

And how can you classify it as a spam when there were mails SENT from my email address. Nobody should be able to send emails from MY email address right?

I have changed the password

I have had similar issues, especially on my domain catchall account, where people have spoofed [email protected] and it comes back to my catch all. I cant even use that domain email to register for some sites anymore because it has been blacklisted as a spam email account...

no, no way... if you see your email address in google, try to delete from those pages...

when you receive some spam email, do not click "show images", because very often if you show images from spam emails, spammers are notified that your browser requested for images and they will send you much more spam because they know that this email is "alive"...

I was once getting A LOT of spam, now 1,5 year later almost nothing...
