My hard drive shows up on "Safely Remove Hardware"?!

So after I set up my computer and everything is running smoothly I noticed that my internal hard drives show up on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the lower right, but the other weird thing is that my external doesn't show up.

Any ideas how to fix it?
