My HDD Go Or Is It the Motherboard??

Well the HD has been going for a while. Been getting a SMART failure message, so I press F1 to continue. Went and fired it up, pressed F1 and nothing. So what could be the issue??

If the smart message is going off then you've got a bad drive. To confirm this all you need to do is download the hard drive makers disk diagnositc utility and run it.

I ran a quick test with GW Scan. Not even 5 seconds and it comes back as a failed test, too many values were under limit. It's been running fine, a little slow at times, but tonight when I press F1, nothing happens.

Don't use the gateway scan, even though it probably is dead. Find the maker of the hard drive and download their diagnostic scan program. If you give me the brand of hard drive i'll point you to their program.

You will have to burn it to cd or floppy and run it.

Won't boot from disc, and I can't get into the BIOS.

Can't get into the bios? The computer boots up right but just doesn't access the hard drive? What happens when you disconnect the hard drive.
