when i was running shogun total war 2 the computer freeze. and when i restart the computer said that overcloaking failed ... what is happen ?

How did you overclock it? 3820s aren't really meant to be overclocked, only by the bus.

i didnt do it i buy it with that already. but i have starcraft 2 and dont have any problem. but when i play shogun total war 2. the computer freeze and when i restart says overcloaking failed. they overcloaked to 4.4 ghz

may want to bring the overclock back to stock, even if they 'did' overclock it, it may not be stable in that configuration

only in that game shogun total war. because i have starcraft 2 playing in ultra games and doesnt ahve any problm. maybe is the game ?

i am very doubtful the games stability is game related, id look into bringing the cpu back to stock, so far i havent had any issues with my core i7, it runs like a champ stock.

The 3820s aren't meant for overclocking as mentioned several times, they're not multiplier unlocked.

If they overclocked it on the stock cooler and it's getting too hot, that's why your game is crashing.

socket 2011 chips do not come with cooling. i think its a signal issue that the one game cant handle, though may be ram instability too...but bringing it to stock will help, it totally unsealed my gpu's bottleneck just with that cpu and 1333 ram.

How much was it overcloaked? Did your computer actually become invisible or just hard to see?

Ok, ok, I'll be serious.

Sometimes it just happens that the symptoms of an unstable overclock only appear when using certain applications, that's probably the case here, even if it's only one game most likely hardware instability is to blame. I would just try stock clocks and see if that fixes it; if not, then it's most likely an issue with the game itself.
