My keyboard won't accept three keys

I just got a new keyboard which works good except for one thing. I've noticed in gaming when I press three keys at the same time (numpad plus, numpad 8, down arrow) I get an error tone, and the third key isn't recognized. This was no problem on my previous keyboard, and so I wonder if is this a hardware thing or just some software setup thing?

Hardware. If i remember correctly keyboards are divided into area's (differ per keyboard) with a set of keys in each area. You can only press a number of keys at the same time per area. So your keyboard has reached it limit per area.

It might be on the keyboard.
Have you tried it on a different computer? Do you still get the same problem?

It is the keyboard, more than likely you'll want to return it if you want to be able to press more than 3 keys at once. I think the term is called n-key rollover?

It could be the keyboard it probably is a malfunction or it may not be compatible with that type of activity that you want to execute.

It's the keyboard. as said before keys are divided into sections. MY brothers wireless HP keyboard also has this problem. He can't use left shift, w and d at the same time. it beeps at him.

This compination is sued in lots and lots of games for running, and turning right at the same time... so yeah.

Maybe change the key layout of whatever you are trying to play?
