When i turn it on, everything turns on (green light and stuff) but nothing shows up on the screen. I know the actual screen isnt broken because i plugged it into a external display and nothing showed up. Help me :(

First you could try pulling the HDD and replacing the memory. If none of that works, then I can only assume it's the motherboard.

I've read that people have had some success with this, especially with HP types (this is assuming it's not a hardware related problem)

Unplug from mains and remove battery
Keep finger on Start/Power button for 30 seconds
Replace battery and/or power lead and try again

I tried that, didn't work :( Thanks anyway though :)

My friend's laptop once did exactly that and it turned out to be a dead cmos battery. I installed a new battery for her and the laptop booted up. I know this is not a common issue for a dead cmos battery, but nonetheless that's what fixed it in her case.

How old is your laptop?

I agree that it is more likely to be a HDD or RAM failure or a dead mobo.
Create boot discs from the following two diagnostic tools:
Try using GWScan 5.12 to do a boot up diagnostic on the HDD.
Try using Microsoft's Memory Diagnostic tool at boot up to check the RAM.

Let us know how it goes. BTW - how did this all start? Did anything happen to the laptop that caused it to start acting up?
