It's just happened for the third or fourth time that I've noticed. On my system there is an icon that shows when I have a connection. One icon shows when I'm plugged in with a phone cord and one icon shows the signal strength of my wireless connection. I turned this computer on yesterday, the telephone cord was not in, the wireless router was not on and there was an icon that displayed a weak signal strength Internet connection to a wireless connection.
Just before I made this thread, the cord was plugged in and the regular icon was on, then I noticed it'd changed to the wireless icon, and, again, that router is not even plugged in. I've had the system for about a year. It's never done this until this past few days, that I've noticed. I'd at least like to know why it's doing it before I not worry about it. I'm particularly leery about this due to having had the computer worked on by an in-law who turned out to be a psychopath, some months back. Maybe it's paranoid but I'm not particularly computer savvy and I have no idea what a hacker can and can't do, ya know?
