can anyone suggest ways for cleaning my laptop lcd screen..

its a toshiba.. when i bought it... it has this pink soft foaming type of cover that covers the keyboard seperating the lcd screen n keyboard.. i believe it has left somewhat.. scuffs marks on the screen..

yeah im able to wipe it off with a soft towel, but it keeps coming back for i keep using the foam.. and yea i would like to use it and not discard it because i travel alot around with my laptop and i dont want the keyboard to scratch the screen..

any suggestions?

Clean it and get a sfoter foam? Maybe a non scratch foam? :) If you remove the foam are you sure it will hit the scrren? It doesnt seem to work well..

yea i been looking through it.. and it seems make holes in the foam.. so im sure it will get the screen sooner or later.. i wanna get the keyboard protector.. but sinces its kinda like a rubber material.. i dont it'll so any good towards the screen

i would go to office depot or office max and look at packaging material. see if i could find another type of packaging foam that wont stick/scuff the screen.

yea i beleive office depot and staples sells packages for cleaining like lcd monitors and camera screens. it comes wit the lcd safe solution and a cloth

great!

will those packagin foam be thin enough to fit between the lcd and keyboard when i close it? i wouldn't want something really thick.. and they come in sizes right? my lcd is 15.4.. so hopefully its big enough so that i can cut it to fit, or if they do have the right size, thats perfect..

thats awesome that they have lcd safe solutions.. i'll check on it tomorrow after work.. do you guys happen to know by any chance whats unsafe solutions/liquid to use on an lcd screen?

i been using windows cleaner, water, sometimes saliva to clean my CRT monitor.. so will the same apply to lcd? or should i just get a lcd safe solution?

i just use a moist eye glass cleaning cloth. hmm...i've never had a problem with my keyboard scratching my lcd. which toshiba laptop do you speak of?

M45-S351

as far as i know, the keyboard isn't mis-shaped or anything where the button sare sticking up or lop-sided..

most laptop screens are hinged so that it lies a few millimeters above the keyboard. you shouldnt need to put that pink foam you speak of.

The best option is not to clear it...:)

But u may try with some good LCD cleaning kit available at all major computer outlets....a spects cleaner will also work fine..
