my laptop wont display properly on Tv.

My computer will not display properly on my tv. The tv picture completely runs off the screen. my computer only has 3 resolution settings for the laptop display and 5 on thetv display however only 2 of the available 5 works. I get a messed up screen on the other 3 settings on the tv display. Please help

You need to see if you can reposition the aspect areas of the display in the TV settings.

Also, I don't see the reason for the poll....

From my experience with connecting computers to TVs this usually happens when you use an HDMI cable, the problem will very likely disappear if you use a VGA cable if the TV has that connection.

The thing is that my computer only has the hdmi hookup. and there is no hdmi settings on the tv however there is VGA Settings But my computer as I said does not have any VGA Slots(hookups).

I was just experimenting with the polls so please disregard it

Try going into the AMD video settings and change the overscan option to off or on. This should fix the issue.

That's what he said. Look in the AMD control panel on your laptop for an overscan option. If it's on, turn it off. If it's off, turn it on.

Also look in your tv settings for something similar to fit to screen option. In fact I just downloaded the manual for your tv. Go into its menu and choose screen fit and make sure its set to standard instead of overscan. Look in the manual if you have it. If not you can download it here.

ok so i tried what you guys said. i did find the overscan option however it will not let me change the option of over scaling or under scaling. my tv scaling is on standard. I have also reset my tv picture settings.

Got any type of picture adjusting like full screen, widescreen, zoom? Might be aspect ratio. I imagine it's probably just a button on your remote.

Edit: If I found the right remote try the lower of the two buttons in between your volume and channel buttons.

I have tried that too. the picture from my very first post was in the smallest available aspect ratio.

yes I was at that screen. but it wouldn't let me slide the slider to underscan or overscan.not even if I uncheck the checkbox under it.
