My monitor is making me dizzy!!!

we could go with this forever,

if it isn't a problem just try to move all the stuff around your monitor somewhere else, than we could know if the things around the monitor are the problem or the monitor itself,

i have an amplifier above my monitor (10 cm) and when i turn it on my monitor starts shaking

I will try this later.

If I move the object away, will it stop immediately, or will I have to wait a while?

the monitor shoud stop shaking immediately (well, thats what happens in my case), just move the things so we can know,

i have a 17" CRT and if i increase the resoulution to 1280*1024 the monitor starts shakin like crazy

EDIT: i just found out, its starts shaking like crazy only when my amplifier is on

That is the problem. It isn't shaking. There is a wavy line thingy that moves up and down the screen very slowly, distorting it.

oh, now i get it, its like when u record a monitor with a cheap camcoder, i dont know how to solve that, sry

Yes it is something like that, but the line isn't there, only the distortion caused by the line. And it isn't that fast.

That is why I have no idea what to do, I have never before seen anything like this.

Well I keep moving things around, and it seems to have absolutely no effect on what the monitor does. It just does random wavy patterns whenever it feels like it. :( Looks like that LCD monitor is a more pressing issue than I previously thought.

Thanks for the help anyway

Tim

OK, I have finally figured out what it is. My heater. Don't ask me why, but whenever I have my heater on, the sub makes funny noises, and the monitor does the wavy thing that I am talking about. And if I turn off the speakers it does the same thing, so it is not that.

Is the heater (quartz) emitting some strange kind of electromagnetic wave that is disrupting the monitor? It is about 3 m away, but is pointing in this general direction.
