My Monitor

Hi there,

My monitor has suddenly gone mad and I don’t know what 2 do.

When i change screens I can see the background of the last screen i was on. So if i am on my desktop then go into wmp I can see the desktop background.

Also, at the bottom of my monitor their is a space which is blue - not part of my normal background

Please help - this is driving me mad!

Could be your monitor or your video card. Whats the make and model of your computer? If its on board video, it may be a little harder to troubleshoot than a pci card. Try using a different monitor, and try using the bad monitor on a different computer.

My PC is a E Machines 5240 model - not great but does a job!

Is there any sort of test i could do to tell if its either the monitor or video card? Thats apart from changing the monitor/pc (only have one of each)

Afraid I dont know any other way to test them. You could try searching for ways to do so on google or something, but I couldnt come up with anything. If you have an lcd tv or something like that, sometime they have a vga connection for the computer, or the video card may have an s-vido connection you could use to output to a tv.
