CPU - Core 2 Duo E6300
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3
Ram - Elixir (cheap make i know) 2 x 1GB PC4200 DDR 533
Graphics - Sapphire X1950 XT 256MB
Hard Drive - Current 250GB and maybe another 250GB
DVD Writer - NEC AD-7173 Label Flash


I know most people will tell me not to get that graphics card because the DX10 ones have just come out, but i dont plan on getting vista for at least a year, and the cards cost way too much for me atm. The ram i know is cheap, but i have Elixir in my current set-up so i know they can overclock surprisngly well.

Any other suggestions? Would it be worth going with the DS4 over the DS3? THe only difference i can see is the heatpipe cooling.
 
That sounds good I don't think the GS4 board will make much of a difference the GS3 looks fine for what your working with.
 
Don't get the DS4 over the DS3, if anything, downgrade to the S3.

Remember, not all ram by the same brand is created equal, especially going from DDR to DDR2. Ditch that Elixir and get some real ram. You are going to be limited in your overclocking if you have DDR2 533 ram, at least get some good DDR2 667 ram at 3-3-3-8 or 4-4-4-12 minimum, even better, DDR2 800 @ 4-4-4-12.
