My new computer lags for some reason.

Hey, I bought a computer...

Pentium(R) D CPU 3.20GHz
2.00GB of RAM

When I first purchased it, it was super duper fast. Then I got a virus like a month later. So I reformated. Since I wiped out everything and reformated it its back to its normal state. But now the comp lags for some reason. It's not the internet because I can just open a regular window...like "my computer" and when i move the window around, it lags. It's weird.

Out of frustration I messed with the some of the setup i think its called the "bios screen". Tried changing stuff that I didn't even know what i was doing. But can that affect the speed of my comp? Please help me, thanks.

do you have the proper video card drivers installed??

if your in windows XP right click on my computer go to properties then click on the hardware tab then click the button device manager and make sure theres no "!" with a yellow circle around them. Could mean you missed some drivers somewhere. Thats what it sounds like to me at least

Sounds like you didn't install your video card drivers after you reformatted and reinstalled.

This is a must with XP. lol

Windows 7 does it for you.

The last one with a "!" is "SM Bus Controller" what is that? Is it important?

What brand and model of computer is this? The manufacturers website should have all the drivers you need for the motherboard, to get rid of all the "!"'s.
