My New Computer Setup (what do you think?)

So, I've taken everyone's advice and decided to build my own computer instead of buying an alienware computer. I'm considering buying the following pieces of hardware for my computer, but I'm not too sure if everything is sufficient for the motherboard/processor and video card. Maybe there are also cheaper alternatives that are just as good or maybe I need more watts for my power supply. Please feel free to tell me what you think. Thanks!

Case - Antec Twelve Hundred ATX 12 Drive Bays 2xUSB 2.0 eSATA Audio Mid Tower Case ($172.99)

CPU cooler - Zalman CNPS9700LED Ultra Quiet Cpu Cooler
($56.99)

Fan - Antec TriCool case fan ( TRICOOL120MM BLUELED ) ($17.26)

Processor - Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor ($288.99)

Motherboard - ASUS Rampage II Extreme LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard ($398.99)

Video card - EVGA 017-P3-1291-AR GeForce GTX 295 1792MB 896 (448 x 2)-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card ($509.99)

Memory - CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory ($183.99)

Hard drive - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive ($119.99)

Power Supply - SILVERSTONE OP1000-E 1000W ATX 12V 2.2 & EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply ($229.99)

CD/DVD drive - LG Black 22X (CAV) DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X (CAV) DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 22X DVD±R DVD Burner - OEM ($24.99)

corsair 1kw unit instead of the silverstone, and for 50 dollars more, you could have an evga x58 classified board, along with two gtx 285's in place of the gtx 295(would be more, but you could get more power out of it) i would also get a thermalright ultra 120 for better temps(not on newegg) and lastly, you might want to get a second 1tb drive to run in raid 1, after all, that is a lot of data to lose

For him it's going to be around $2300-$2700 Mine's around $2500ish and it's almost identical. (Same HDD GPU CPU and case :) )

What do you mean by "...1tb drive to run in raid 1"? What is raid 1? Should I just get another Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive? Also, will the Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme - Heat sink - ( Socket 775, Socket AM2 ) & Antec TriCool case fan ( TRICOOL120MM BLUELED ) be enough for reducing temperatures?

Updated setup -
Antec TriCool case fan ( TRICOOL120MM BLUELED ) $13.99
CORSAIR 1000w HX Series 12v ATX SLI Ready 80 Plus Certified Power Supply - CMPSU-1000HX $225.99
Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme - Heat sink - ( Socket 775, Socket AM2 ) - aluminum $62.00
LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA Model GH22NS30 - OEM $24.99
Western Digital Caviar SE WD800JB 80GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - OEM $35.99
EVGA 017-P3-1291-AR GeForce GTX 295 1792MB 896 (448 x 2)-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card $509.99
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C8D $183.99
ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard + Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80601920 $623.98
ntec Twelve Hundred ATX 12 Drive Bays 2xUSB 2.0 eSATA Audio Mid Tower Case $148.96
=~$1829.84 (doesn't include taxes or shipping)

raid 1 is for redundancy, in otherwords, you still have 1tb of space(you would get 2tb's in raid0, but no backup if one drive fails) but, if either of the drives fails, you can just put another drive in(identical) and you'll be set. oh, and why the p6t6?

Maybe not a wise choice, but I decided (haven't bought yet) on the ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard + Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80601920 combo for $623.98. You suggested the evga x58 classified board + 2 GTX 285 video cards, but that motherboard hasn't came out yet, I don't believe. Also, I'm not really sure why other than it being on sell. This is all so confusing, lol.

As far as raid1, you're just saying I need to get another hard drive in case the other fails?

Please tell me what I should do for my hard drive. Like give me an example of what would work with my setup. What have others used that worked for them? I'd like to have at least 1 TB of space.

if you just want raid one, all you would need is two 1tb drives of the same model, and during the format process, just set the drives to raid 1

expensive, and not worth it for most people, get two for raid zero, if that floats your boat, the intel ssd's are some of the best drives on the market

that build should eat them up. makes me wonder where everyone on this site gets all the money to put these systems together.

why would he get 2 285's??? if he gets a 295 its cheaper almost as powerful and the leaves the option of quad gpu.
