k guy i have a question, is there a good reliable program out there to help increase the battery life. cuz when im at school i cant really get to an outlet that easily and so im trying everything to conserve battery life by dimming the screen to the lowest, shutting off the touch pad and speakers but im only getting 2 hours if i push it and thats just not enough so could u guys please help, thanks :D

yeah its a 6-cell and yeah i know its good and all but i need more lol cuz of school and most of the time in class i cant get an outlet so im just wondering if there was any way of extending it to about 4 hours? i know thats probably too much to ask for lol

yeah, the graphics+processor probably drain it, i think they make 14 or 12 cell batteries, that should double your life if you can find one

Wow i've never seen anything bigger than 9 cells.
edit: Oh yea, some gaming laptops use 12 cell batteries. The alienware m9750 had a 12 cell battery.

yeah i know that is an opption but thats like 150 on newegg and im a poor college student so yeah lol cuz i have looked into getting another battery but in looking for alturnatives :D

You could downclock your cpu if you don't need full performance during battery use.

Be VERY careful when overclocking or downclocking.

If you come across a large fortune, these external batteries can be used for about 6 hours for the $500 one.

Or you could undervolt the cpu, which would make it use less power also

Remember, both downclocking and undervolting can be very dangerous, and I would not attempt them myself. They might also void your warranty, but a professional should be ok with doing them.

Get some ''D'' cell NiHi batteries and make an external pack you can plug into the charging jack. Recharge the batteries when you get home for the next day.
